Step By Step Instructions

1. Make sure the switch on the MedicTag is to the LEFT when holding the MedicTag with the attaching hole upright. Moving the switch to the right makes the unit "read only" preventing accidental changes to your information.

2. Plug the MedicTag into a USB port. Your system should recognized that you have plugged in the MedicTag and display a new icon in the task area at the lower right of your screen. Depending on your computer system configuration the MedicTag software menu should be displayed automatically.
If it is displayed, go to Step 6. Otherwise proceed to Step 3.

3. Double click on "My Computer" to show a list of your drives.
(If you do not have a "My Computer" icon on your desktop, click on "Start" then click "My computer")

4. Double click on the "red cross" icon to access the MedicTag files.

5. Double click the AutoRun.exe icon to start the program.

6. From the menu click on "View Emergency Information".

7. Fill in your information as needed.

8. At the top, right corner of the form, click on the "X" to close the form. You will be asked if you would like to save the changes. Click "Yes".

9. You can also save a backup copy of your information to your computer. Click on "File" and then "Save As", in the dialog box that appears, navigate to your desktop and then click on "Save".

11. In the menu click on "Exit" or the "X" in the upper right corner to close.

Removing the MedicTag from your computer depends on your operating system and hardware.

On most systems that are "Plug and Play" you can simply unplug the MedicTag.

On others you must must turn off the device by clicking on the device icon in the task area at the lower right of your screen and follow the instructions.
